Blazing Sables School & Agency of Specialised Makeup was founded in 2006 by Stella Photis, to equip students with the practical skills and experience lacking in mainstream colleges. It is a known fact that agents, employers and clients are mainly interested in seeing a quality portfolio showing your creative skills, abilities and experience and professionalism, above your qualification!

You can have all the knowledge and qualifications in the world, but if your portfolio and practical skills are poor, you will not get work and may not get on your chosen course program.’ We firmly believe that if students gain this ‘high path’ of practical skills and abilities BEFORE they enter a full training programme, they will have an advantage in the work place, on chosen course programs and over fellow students.

We believe you have an advantage as a makeup artist if you specialise in one or two areas of the industry i.e. Fashion, TV, Film, Theatrical Photographic or Themed Performance. Many schools enforce that an artist should be multi-skilled and this is true. However, to get your name known in the industry you must specialise and be multi-skilled in your specialist area/s. Our syllabus implements this and is taught by professional makeup artists who are in touch with and creating new trends in today's dynamic and fast moving industries.

Our innovative teaching methods, developed from the need for a practical ‘high path’ to specialist areas of the makeup industry, is structured in such a way as to develop your own style, which is the bases for your whole career.
